Our idea is a simple one that works
Mary’s Meals is a global movement that sets up school feeding projects in some of the world’s poorest communities, where hunger and poverty prevent children from gaining an education.
We provide one daily meal in a place of education to attract chronically poor children into a classroom where they receive an education that can, in the future, be their ladder out of poverty.
Mary’s Meals began by feeding 200 children in Malawi in 2002. Today we feed over 600,000 hungry children every day in 16 countries around the world. Wherever Mary’s Meals is provided, there is a rise in rates of enrolment, attendance and attainment.
With more than 300 million hungry children in the world, the work of Mary’s Meals is just beginning. We are a grassroots global movement which relies on the work of volunteers, who carry out lots of little acts of love on our behalf.
