Keeping our hands clean is a simple way to stop the spread of disease and save lives. But what happens when you don't have running water or soap?

This Global Handwashing Day, we take a closer look at how our Covid-19 response is helping communities to protect themselves during the pandemic …

At each of our food distribution points we have handwashing facilities with soap and water, so people can clean up before safely collecting food for their children.

We’re also handing out bars of soap for families to use at home…

…and sharing guidance about handwashing and hygiene so that communities know how to stay safe and help prevent the spread of the disease.

"The food distribution is preventing hunger among schoolchildren, while the provision of soap and information on hand washing plays a key role in preventing the spread of the virus."
