To Feed 1,000 Children - SJSP

Year 3

St. John's Summer Program

$35,191.54 raised towards our $24,633.00 target.

"Mary's Meals is a series of lots of little acts of love. If you put all those acts of sacrifice together, it creates a beautiful thing" - Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow, Mary's Meals Founder and CEO

At St. John’s Summer Program, our staff of high school and college students loves our young children who are so blessed to not experience real hunger. Knowing that there are children, the same age as our campers, who go to bed hungry at night, has ignited a desire to do more – to sponsor and feed the 1,142 children at Chaone Primary School in Malawi for an entire year. Last year, through many fundraisers and generous donors, we raised $25,000, enough money to feed Chaone Primary School, plus an extra 200 children, for an entire year! Thank you for your support! Please join us in doing it again! May God bless your generosity!

“Around the world, 61 million children are hungry and do not attend school. They work or beg in order to survive. By providing meals in schools, hungry children are encouraged to attend school and receive an education that may one day be their ladder out of poverty. For many of these children, this is also the only nutritious meal they will receive that day.” Today, Marys Meals feeds more than 1.5 million children around the world, including 30% of Malawi’s entire elementary school population.

Please consider supporting us in this effort to share our love with the children of Malawi. Just $21.00 feeds one child for an entire school year- a simple act of love that will give hope to some of the world’s most vulnerable children. May God bless your generosity!

With deep gratitude,

Eyebrows for Food 2020 SJSP Challenge!

To reach $25,000 with everything going on this summer, we knew we'd have to go big. This is our idea of big! We'll trade our eyebrows for food for the children at Chaone Primary School! Our eyebrows, your money, their food! Vote with your dollars! In the "public message" box, note the staff member's name and whether you want your donation to go toward shaving or saving his/her eyebrows! Eyebrow status can be viewed on our website - Red means danger! Green means safe! "Save" money will be added to the balance and "Shave" money will be deducted from the balance. Voting ends next Wednesday (July 8) morning at 8:30am. Instructors with a positive (green) balance will keep their eyebrows. Instructors with a negative (red) balance will lose their eyebrows that morning on the morning show!

Anonymous donations and donations made that cannot be tied to a staff member will be considered "Shave" votes and deducted from the highest positive (green) total (split in the event of a tie).

Kudos to these brave and adventurous SJSP staff members. They love our children at Chaone Primary School more than their own brows!

Unfortunately, due to today's 'stay-at-home' directive from the governor, we've had to cancel our mulch fundraiser. A big thank you to everyone who ordered mulch to support our mission. We'll be at it again next year. Now onto the next fundraiser! As soon as we can leave home and gather together again! God bless!
