The Des Moines Mary'sMeals: Race to Feed Kids 5K / 10K was created and planned by a group of local volunteers who are passionate about feeding children in most desperate need of food.
Each year, proceeds from the race are donated to the international non-profit organization, Mary's Meals, which is focused on one goal – feeding every child a nutritious daily meal in their place of education. The children this race sponsor live in the village of Mcheza in Malwai (east Africa).
Due to the worldwide Coronavirus pandemic, we were forced to cancel our 2020 5K/10K fundraising race. Through generous donations, we were still able to keep our commitment to feed the children of our school. For 2021, we're ready to come back bigger and better than ever!
Kayla Engebrecht is raising money to feed 949 children for a whole school year at Mcheza school in Malawi.
This is year 7 Kayla Engebrecht has raised funds for Mcheza with a total of $72,512.20 raised so far.
