Fundraising Stories from the USA
Its been a ridiculously hectic but incredibly rewarding week for me. First of all I was in Iowa as one of the speakers at a two day conference. Over 4000 people heard about Mary’s Meals for first time and the response was just unbelievable. We weren’t officially collecting money but many people gave donations at our info stand immediately after the talk and wanted to be kept informed about our work.
A lot of Marys Meals seeds have just been sown in the farming state. Next we want to The Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio where the students have established a Mary’s Meals Chapter to raise awareness, fundraise and pray for our work.
They are an inspiring bunch. The Professor who instigated this, and his wife have just got a new boat and have called it ‘Dalmally’! That way every time some asks them about the name they get to tell them about Mary’s Meals. The things people think of to get the word out or fundraise never cease to amaze!
